Mesoporous Silicas Obtained by Time-Controlled Co-Condensation: A Strategy for Tuning Structure and Sorption Properties

Mesoporous silicas synthesized by the co-condensation of two and three different silica monomers were varying time intervals between addition individual monomers, while total interval was kept constant. This resulted in structural properties final silicas, particularly their porosity local ordering. One obtained samples exhibited an unusual isotherm with hysteresis loops its pore volume as high 2.2 cm3/g. In addition, to be thoroughly characterized a wide range instrumental techniques, materials also employed adsorbents release platforms diclofenac sodium (DICL; used here model drug). case DICL adsorption release, differences revealed, which confirms fact that control monomer can successfully fine-tune organo-silica materials.
